When will my day of reward and turnaround arrive? When is my turn going to come? You know a lot of the time we go around walking in self-pity, watching other people live in what we call the “Blessing”, reminiscing on the fact that we do not have what they have. Now you may be sitting at home in your living room reading this and be asking yourself, what separates them from me, what is different about them, what do they possess within their innate capabilities that I do not? Now before you rack your brains thinking of this secret answer for hours on end let me spill the beans for you. It is a resounding NOTHING, nothing. They are in no way more blessed than you; they are in no measure by any means more capable than you are. The Blessings of heaven are available for us all.

In Deuteronomy 28:3-4 we read just that, “You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock-the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.” But how can we get this blessing? Where can it be found? We all know that God is the provider and that he is the Blessing, but how do we bring that into physical manifestation into our lives. I am here to tell you that you already have all the Blessings of God within you. You just have to channel it into physical reality, and that has everything to do with the words that we speak.

Let’s look to the first verse in the first book of Genesis; here we witness the first thing that God did. “In the beginning God created…” God said “Let there be light,” and there was light. The first thing that our Lord did was create with his words. This immediately reveals to us that our “words” are not meant to be passive. We read in Proverbs 18:21 that our tongues have “the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” I want you to take a look around you, first look at what your life looks like, look at where you are. And then look at the words you are speaking, look at the seeds that you are planting. Those seeds are directly related to what you are harvesting. If you aren’t happy with your life and feel like you’re not getting anywhere it’s most likely because of your mindset. The biggest motivator and the biggest obstacle in your life, is YOU. Use your words for good, not for evil; use them to build, not to destroy.

Don’t you think that the person who wakes up in the morning stating “This is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it!” will have a better day than the person who is negative? Of course, the words you speak in the morning will carry over into your attitude and into your results. There is so much power in your tongue. Why do you think a football team or any collective sports team cheers in the huddle before a game? It is because that cheering, those words that they speak are the words that empower them and that bring out that ability that they already had within themselves. Only through their tongues were they truly able to bring it out into physical manifestation.

We have more power in our tongues than we will ever realize. We can hurt people severely through our words. We can speak healing to a soul that is hurting and in need of encouragement, or we can tear one down and leave it to die. We can speak health to our bones or sickness into our lives. We have that kind of power in our tongues. When someone says something out of anger, they can’t reach out and retrieve what they have said. It’s already out there, once they have said it it’s already gone.

Remember, the first thing that God ever did was create with his words. What are you going to create today? Let us challenge ourselves to speak positive scripture and to do what is good. In that way we can manifest that Blessing that is already within us into our lives. Use your words not to curse but to bless someone today.

Have you ever been lost and in need of guidance for a crucial decision? Have you been looking for the NEXT STEP to your life whether you are in High School, college, or even married? Well it’s time to stop worrying because in 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 we read that Paul stated “Everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. The Scriptures train God’s servants to do all kinds of good deeds”.

The Bible is God’s word to us here on earth, he lays out his commission for us, and there are many very practical instructions that as children of God we should follow. The Bible talks about our relationships, how we should owe no man anything but to love one another (Romans 3:18). He teaches us how are attitude should be towards our boss, our parents. A lot of what God has for us is plainly revealed in his word. The Bible is full of general but very key principles, but it does not always have specific instructions, exactly who we should marry, or what school should we go to.

We face specific decisions everyday but as long as we are putting forth a conscious effort to apply his principles in our lives and do what he says we can always assertively expect him to help guide us in a delicate decision. In Proverbs 3:5, 6 we are told how this will be assured “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths” (NIV). His promise is clearly that he will guide us if we acknowledge him and lean on him in every area of our lives, it’s that simple.

But God does expect us to use our intelligence. In 1 Chronicles 12:32 we read that the men of Issachar “knew the times” that they lived in and therefore were successful. We need to apply practical knowledge in the situations that we face. Yes God will protect you and guide you but if you put on a t-shirt in the middle of the winter it’s hard to say that you won’t get a cold. God says in Psalms 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you”. But then he goes on to say in verse 9 “Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle”.

If we abide in God he will abide in use and God will give us wisdom to know right from wrong, as well as certain paths to take in our lives. His guidance will come, it always does, but it might require, hard work, doing your research, or looking for advice on a topic and weighing the pros and cons. But how are you to hear God if you do not abide in him? Can you hear your parents calling to you or giving you instructions if you are not near them? It’s the same way with God, we need to keep digging into his word daily for instruction and guidance, the BIBLE is his word for us on earth, it is the way we can hear from him and see his promises come to manifestation in our lives.

It is what bring us closer to him and helps us to clearly think and live in His will. So why do we do so little of it? Why do we only remember to pray when times are bad?

Thing is, all of heaven stops so that the prayers of the saints, which is us Christians can rise before God. And the cool thing about it is he will hear them, he always does. The power of prayer is tremendous, in the Bible the teachings on prayer lead overwhelmingly to one conclusion: prayer changes things. Our busy lifestyles, our “hurriedness” in life if you will prevents us from growing closer with our creator and making a change in our lives and those of other people.

That is why it is important to practice and discipline ourselves in prayer. I can only think back to the book of Genesis where Adam and Eve walked in the presence of God all the time. But because of sin, this exercise has become unnatural to us. We take on the attitude that prayer is a chore when it’s really not.

It is very important to choose at least one time each day to have a focused time of prayer. Some time away from all the material things we are used to in life, away from all the distractions and noise from our daily routines. Just like we need to interrupt heaven we need to interrupt our lives.

Many of us would like to think that we have an intimate relationship with God but truly, you must understand that it can go deeper. It always can. The one problem we have with prayer sometimes is really wondering what to pray about. What we really need to understand is that our fellowship with Jesus Christ, is a relationship, He is our friend. That being said we can just speak plainly to him on the topics that are closest to our hearts.

One important thing that is good to remember is intercessory prayer. Intercessory prayer is a prayer where we are not just praying for ourselves but for others and those that we don’t know. We need to ask God to help use us as His true servants that we all are, to help others in their walks in life with God and through their practical ways of living to be closer to him.

As children of God, it is our calling to be servants of Christ and this aspect of intercessory prayer is a great tool. Since it’s a relationship, the bottom line comes to this. How can we hear from our father… how can we hear what he wants us to do if we don’t talk with Him?

People define success by different means and measurements according to their dreams and aspirations in life. Everyone wants to succeed and there are many obstacles that get in one’s way and end up delaying the individual for a while. But there is one obstacle that will utterly defeat all of us if we do not keep it in check. This obstacle is called “self.” You are your success and failure; it is you who determines your personal outcome.

I had a professor once tell me “If you think you’re a loser, you’ll end up doing loser things.” This is a powerful statement because the ultimate key to success is ones thoughts. You are the only one who can choose what kinds of thoughts fill up your mind, so make sure they are filled with positive thoughts 24/7.

For example an athlete competing in a sport needs to believe in his or her self if they are going to be an asset for their team. In the exact same way, a small aspiring business owner needs to believe that they are going to do well and make something big out of the little seed that they have just started to nourish. If you’re reading this right now you know where I am going with these statements.

Everyone needs to have a PMA and that is an acronym for a Positive Mental Attitude. Napoleon Hill who was one of the world’s most influential leaders on this topic once stated that “A positive mental attitude is the fixed purpose to make every experience, whether it is pleasant or unpleasant, yield some form of benefit which will help us to balance our lives with all the things which lead to peace of mind.”

Now you may be sitting at your desk and saying “Well Dave, what you say is good, but it’s easy for you to make these statements because you don’t know what I am going through; and where I’ve come from.” Now before you pick up that phone and call in the DJ for your in-house pity party, let’s take a look at what the Bible, God’s Word for you, has to say.

In Philippians 4:13 we read, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” If you go on into Habakkuk 3:19 you will see that “…the lord is your strength…” You may be thinking, what does this all mean? It means that the Lord God, the one who has the power to create the entire universe, and the one that gives you your breath, resides on the inside of you. That blessing, that power, that success, that prosperity already resides in you! To apply this to your situation all you need to do is BELIEVE it and it will be unto you.

Staying focused on your goals. Looking for the best in any situation will help you to maintain this positive mental attitude. This is extremely important because a mental attitude is a two-way door on ones path in life which can be turned one way into success and can also be pushed into the other direction of failure. The unfortunate thing is that the majority of people decide to swing their door wide open into the wrong direction. So be equipped to succeed and you will always win.

How Music Wields an Effect on Physical Training

Have you ever found yourself rapidly losing the endurance during your workouts as an athlete? Have you ever come to the point where you are searching for more motivation to keep going? We’ve all been there and done that you could say. Ever wondered how you can reach and manifest your Inner Hercules? What athlete wouldn’t climb the tallest mountain or dive to the bottom of the deepest ocean to retrieve this source? But what is it? What does it look like? Is it big? Is it small? Is it some immortal form of superhuman strength created in the confines of an ancient world? No…plainly put its music… I know right? Music, how so? In the heat of the moment within the confines of competition, where very often athletes are almost equally matched in ability and talent, music has the tested power to enhance performance (Karageorghis & Terry, 1997). According to scientific research there are five keys in which music has been able to influence competitive performance: arousal regulation, synchronization, acquisition of motor skills, dissociation, and attainment of flow.

Since music is good for exercising, how do you choose the type of music for specific activities? Well every athlete who is searching to incorporate music in their training activities should consider what environment they will have to participate in. What type of exercise or activity are they going to undergo? How will the activity affect them physically and especially emotionally? Some activities go extremely hand-in-hand with music integration, those that are really repetitive in nature tend to give the best results; weight training, warm-ups, stretching, circuit training etc. In any case the athlete should at best make a playlist of songs that have a tempo and rhythm that match the activity embarked upon.

According to the Sunday Times newspaper in London, England, when it comes to exercise and physical training, activity researchers state that music really does help enable the athlete to connect with the power of sound. It has long been suspected by athletes that music does boost their athletic performance. Results from Brunal University in West London show that performances can be boosted by running or executing exercises to your favourite beats. Although many of us have a wide variety of music that we really enjoy, one has to be selective in their choosing. Tracks that are chosen should be of different tempos that correspond to low, medium and high intensities for best results.

Now it is important to always remember that you are not restricted to listen to what everybody else suggests. Choose what you like best! Choose what motivates you, what keeps you going and boosts you to perform to your utmost. But it is paramount that you keep it clean and godly. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we are stewards of this physical body. So go out there and show that you can do the best with what God has given you.

But let me first tell you the real reason why I’m disgusted.

It looks like manhood will be our topic of discussion. What does it mean to be a man? Is it about being a leader of your own clan? Or bouncing up the street with windows rolled down your van?

What is manhood? Is it doing certain things that the media says you should? Or does being a man, mean more than just chasing down girls, giving them a twirl and then throwing them away once you’re done with them?

What is a true masculinity? Where can we find a man’s true ability? Seemingly, the virility of the subject can only be found in history books and music hooks. Do the terms honor and character still exist? This is what we’re looking into; this is what real men have to come to terms to.

What has replaced manhood is a shame, but really we as men, are the only ones to blame. It all comes down to you, it all comes down to me, and if you really wanna make a change, if you really want to make an adjustment to the name of the game, you have to put this topic above all fame.

In the 21st century this topic is constantly being refuted, in the 21st century this topic is constantly being polluted. Now I wanna question this logic. I wanna pop off the seal. I wanna question something that we believe is already a done deal.

Now in this context, masculinity is constantly being degraded while the idea of a jerk is always being paraded. Being a man is not about being hard or soft or rough, it’s about the ability to overcome your selfishness and being able to love. Let’s take the good book, let’s give it a good look. Now, you’ll see what I mean, what does it say? It says love is kind, and patient. It says love is never jealous boastful, proud or rude. It says love isn’t selfish or quick-tempered and certainly does not keep a record of wrongs that others do. It states that love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting.

Now ladies out there listen to me, I hope from this you’ll get an epiphany. Would you rather be just some bad boys disguise? Or would you rather be a real man’s prize? Now if you chose the first rather than the latter you won’t find what you’re looking for. He’ll just ditch you and move on to the next 1, 2, maybe even 4. The reason why I’m saying this, the reason why I’m coming out is because 50 percent of you know that what I’m saying is really what it’s all about.

Now you may wanna indict me, and you may wanna come up to me and say hey man this is the 21st century bro, get real, you’re living in a dream. But let me tell you how I’m not. Let me ask politely even if you’re against me won’t you admit that what I’m saying is somewhat true, just slightly?

If you’re a man and if you’ve said that this is not true you’re selfish and don’t deserve a woman. You think you’re a man just because of your age? Being a man has nothing to do with your age. You might as well just be a boy till the day you lay in your grave. I’m calling you out. Let the process begin. It’s time to separate the boys from the men. Which one are you? I wanna be a man.

I know I do. Wouldn’t you want to be the leader of something successful that impacts the lives of countless people in a positive way? This is what God greatly desires for you. Something I would like to stress is that development, growth and successful achievement is a process. Successful people often hear the phrase, “You became successful overnight!” Usually they respond, “It must have been a very long night.”

One of the most important things to have if you want to be successful is a goal. What is a goal? A goal is defined as an objective or desired result where a person not only plans but also commits to achieve an end-point in some sort of assumed development. Assumed development represents a process, and many people who endeavor to reach goals intend to do so in a finite time by setting deadlines for achievement.

A question everyone must ask is “What do I want to strive for?” We have to learn what is important and balance our priorities in life. Then we have to plan our lives in a way that will allow us to achieve our goals. If you want success you need to do what it takes everyday to bring yourself one step closer to your goal. How do you think Keith Urban became a successful country singer? He certainly did not pop out overnight. Justin Bieber is not a one-hit wonder either. He spent many years posting videos on YouTube and training his voice to come to where he is today. Now what do these singers have in common? They all had a passion to succeed. In Proverbs 13:4 we read that “Lazy people want much but get little, but those that work hard truly prosper” (NLT).

A successful happy relationship doesn’t happen overnight either. When two people get married, they quite often realize that they are very different from one another. They may come from different social backgrounds even if they lived down the block from each other. This is because they grew up with different families and traditions. You have to put into the relationship and learn how your spouse or partner understands love and show that in a way that they will accept and recognize it.

If you don’t have a clear and concise goal you will never attain any level of success. Every single person has the ability to be successful. In Deuteronomy 8:18 we read, “Remember the LORD your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath” (NLT).
“The very ability to communicate effectively through speaking as well as in writing is highly valued, and demanded in the business world,” Herta A. Murphy and Herbert W. Hildebrandt wrote in their book EFFECTIVE BUESINESS COMMUNICATIONS. “Knowing the content of the functional areas of business is important, but to give life to those ideas- in meetings or in solo presentations-demands an effective oral presentation.” And that’s where a good oral communication comes in.

Communication has been an integral part of society ever since its beginning; it is just now that “Oral communications” in Canada is starting to become a huge industry. Types of oral communication commonly used in the business world include, personal discussions, presentations, telephone conversations, staff meetings, speeches, video/teleconferences etc.

Therefore communication (conversation) management skills are extremely essential in the business world, for small and large business owners alike this is a vital aspect to staying not just a float but soaring in this industry. An oral communicator that embodies a clear, tactful and relevant speech and informative tone truly bears the hallmarks as a really invaluable key to ultimately ensuring the health and growth of a business and is able to create a great atmosphere for the overall business.

Time to start...

Time to start blogging :)
